Removing/replacing/saving Legendary Aspect

I want to remove an aspect and replace it with another but save the original aspect to use later. Is that possible?

I removed aspects before btu the item disappeared but if I replace the aspect instead I wanted to save the original aspect??

No. When you remove the aspect the item is deleted.

You can remove the aspect and lose the item.
Replace the aspect on the item with another aspect.

But can not do both (keep the aspect, keep the item)
